Ingredients
  

  • 4 beef steaks sirloin, ribeye, or flank
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 can 14 oz crushed tomatoes
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes optional
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • ½ cup black olives sliced (optional)
  • ½ cup fresh parsley chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • ❶ Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
    ❷ Season the steaks with salt and black pepper and sear them for about 2-3 minutes per side until browned.
    ❸ Remove and set aside.
    ❹ In the same skillet, add the remaining olive oil and sauté the onions for 2 minutes until softened.
    ❺ Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
    ❻ Pour in the crushed tomatoes and beef broth, then add oregano, basil, and red pepper flakes.
    ❼ Stir well.
    ❽ Reduce the heat to low and return the steaks to the pan.
    ❾ Cover and let them simmer for 20-25 minutes, occasionally spooning the sauce over the steaks.
    ❿ If using, add black olives in the last few minutes of cooking.
    ⓫ Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot with pasta, rice, or crusty bread.
