Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup 2 sticks butter, softened
  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt optional
  • 3 cups Quaker Oats quick or old-fashioned, uncooked
  • 1 cup raisins optional

Instructions

  • ❶ Preheat the Oven
    Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
    ❷ Prepare the Cookie Dough
    In a large bowl, beat together the butter and sugars until creamy.
    Add the eggs and vanilla, then beat well.
    In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt; mix well.
    Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until well combined.
    Stir in the oats and raisins (if desired), and mix thoroughly.
    ❸ Shape the Cookies
    Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
    ❹ Bake
    Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until the cookies are light golden brown.
    ❺ Cool the Cookies
    Allow the cookies to cool on the cookie sheets for 1 minute before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
