Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound 4 sticks unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 6 large eggs
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour sifted
  • ¾ cup whole milk
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon almond extract optional

Instructions

  • ❶ Preheat Oven
    Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
    ❷ Prepare the Pan
    Grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan.
    ❸ Cream Butter and Sugar
    In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
    ❹ Add Eggs
    Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
    ❺ Add Dry and Wet Ingredients
    Gradually add flour, alternating with milk and cream, beginning and ending with flour.
    ❻ Stir in Flavoring
    Stir in vanilla and almond extracts.
    ❼ Pour Batter
    Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top.
    ❽ Bake
    Bake for 1 hour 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
    ❾ Cool
    Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
