Ingredients

  • 2 racks of beef back ribs about 4-5 lbs total
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp salt
  • 1 tbsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper optional, for heat
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce optional, for glazing

Instructions

  • ❶ Prepare the Ribs
Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better seasoning absorption.
    ❷ Season
Rub the ribs with olive oil, then apply the salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne evenly.
Let them sit for at least 15 minutes (or overnight for deeper flavor).
    ❸ Preheat the Grill/Smoker
Heat to 225°F (107°C) for slow cooking. If using an oven, preheat to the same temperature.
    ❹ Cook Low & Slow
Place the ribs on the grill/smoker (or on a baking tray in the oven).
Cook for about 3 hours, flipping halfway through.
    ❺ Optional Glazing
In the last 30 minutes, brush BBQ sauce on the ribs for a sticky glaze.
    ❻ Rest & Serve
Let the ribs rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
